when you say master key do you mean the black key with the buttons?because some people get confused between the grey and the black keys

if you still have the master key(black with buttons)you can go to toyota and get the key you have coded which will invaladate the stolen key from starting the car and opening it using the buttons but the keys will still work in the locks so if youve not got the money just disconnect the lock but make sure the buttons open the car before doing this

If you only have the grey non-remote key, that's trouble!

Assuming the Avensis system works like the Yaris and Corolla, you NEED a black remote key to be able to program new keys into the ECU. The only way round this is either to replace the ECU completely (Which comes with a new set of two keys coded to it) or find a specialist autolocksmith who can hack the ECU to add a new key to it.

The ECU replacement path is the only one Toyota will do.

We had a couple people advertising the ECU hack option which required you to send them your ECU, but I'm not sure if they are still around.

If you can get a working coded key for €300 without the black one, that's pretty good; Toyota wanted something like £190 from me for a third key and that's WITH the black remote key!

your best otion will be to replace the locks or send them to someone like us we can rearrage the same locks so your old keys wont work them and supply you another key aswell as delete old keys from the ecu and immo and code you a new set of keys into the existing units :)

or as mentioned above change the lot :(
