Strange Braking Noise In Avensis Gs 1.8

I have peculiar problem with my 51 Toyota Avensis. Sometimes at slow speeds when I apply brake a sound comes which is like a spring that is released. Any advice.

i'm no expert on this model but the only thing I can think it might be is the handbrake adjusters on the rear brakes - if indeed there are any fitted. Or it might be something from the pedals. You don't say where the noise comes from.

It comes from the front. Very occasionally.

oh well, bang goes the handbrake adjuster theory! You may have to revert to the old hand & eye checks. Whip the wheels off and give everything a check over, visually and physically. If that doesn't identify it (and you can be bothered) then perhaps a strip, clean and re-assemble would remedy it.

Or you could just put up with it and stay inside in the warm.
