Avensis - Trc And Vsc Warning Light

Hi,

I own an Avensis saloon, registered 2005, on which the TRC and VSC warning light intermittently appears until the engine is switched off. Once switched on again, the warning light is absent. Nothing in particular seems to trigger the warning - it can happen anytime and I haven't been able to replicate it at will.

My Toyota dealer have tried in vain to find the cause of this because the onboard computer system isn't registering a "default code", so they have no way of knowing what is causing the light to come on.

Has anyone else had this problem and, if so, how was it fixed?

Cheers,

Ron

Same problem with my car vsc trc light on all the time changed glowplugs reset light everything fine

Thanks, Sam. I wonder why my dealership haven't done this? They tell me that because the EMC doesn't show an error code, the problem doesn't exist as far as they are concerned! I'll mention your solution to them.

Again, cheers.

My 06 2.2D4D did a similar thing but combined with a loss of power & lots of smoke = EGR valve. From the sound of things yours isn't lacking power so might not be EGR valve in this case.
