Battery Change

I suspect the Battery on my 2004 D-4D T3x is on it's way out (charging ok, but voltage drops overnight).

Before I jump in and disconnect the old one... is there anything I need to prepare for (Radio security code, ECU problems, key programming ??)

I normally trust what Haynes tells me, but they don't create a book for this car

Toyotat dealers are usually pretty competitive under their fixed price promise - for your car it's £100 incl.VAT fitted.

Just radio/clock losing its memory and settings. No other issues I know of although sometimes the one touch window operation needs resetting... just hold button down until window reaches bottom and hold for 10 secs. Then do the same for up holding the switch for 10 seconds or so when at the top. Something that affects many makes models is that.

When you disconnect the Battery disconnect negative lead first and when you fit new Battery replace negative lead last. Make the connection cleanly smartly and don't overtighten the clamps. While the Battery is out you can also press the brake pedal to ensure any capacitors are discharged (bulbs put an effective "short" across the supply). Your ECU will be reset so start the car, let it idle for a few minutes and then drive over mixed conditions to let it relearn settings... you may well find it drives better for this.
