Newbie With A Question!

Hi all,

(Yaris 1999, 1.0 CDX)

Its only got 60k on the clock, and has a FFSH, but there is one thing I can't work out.

Basically, when selecting a gear, the gearstick is very noisy, it makes a very loud "clunk" noise. It sounds like an lubricated metallic sound.

But even when driving, it is audible.

Other than that, the little car is spotless, and I cant complain for £450!

Full Ford Service History?!

I've only been in one 1.0 Yaris and the box was exactly as you describe - rubbery and with a noisy clunk. I thought it was strange as well but from speaking to Toyota it's the norm and said car is still going strong 5 years later.
