im getting a few complaints from my wife and 2 kids about the ride comfort in my auris sr,my daughter was sick after riding in the back at weekend ,the first time for her, but my other daughter has complained a few times about feeling sick in the back, along with my wife in the front saying the car makes her feel sick every now and again, 225/45/17 wheels and stiffer suspension probably.

anybody else had this problem, especially in a sr model ?

Many of my friends keep complaining about the same thing. I just thought it was them that were having the problem. My Auris is the 1.33 with Eibach springs and 205/55/R16. I don't feel anything though.

Maybe it's the new car interior smell? Some are quite sensitive when it comes to it.

Rear seat passengers need to be able to see out OK from the front. If you can't focus on where you are going it can cause this effect.

Headrests and high seat backs don't help...

Just a thought.

I've found my Auris to have a very smooth ride, even on those 225/45/17's. The negative aspect of that soft springing is that the car tends to float over certain rises/crests & that can definitely promote car sickness for passengers. It's a very surprising trait for a car which supposedly has Toyota Motorsport lowered springs on - perhaps a change to H&R springs (very good quality & reputation) might help . . . . :)

When I was a lad I used to throw up on a regular basis travelling in my dads car. Ford Popular, any one remember them? No heater, Wipers driven off the vacuum in the inlet manifold so they stopped when going up a hill and a three speed gearbox. Plus of course a starting handle for use in cold weather. Those were the days.

I digress. He fitted a small chain to the back bumper which dragged on the road to get rid of static electricity. Honest it seemed to work although he got tired of people saying you have lost your dog.

Seem to remember seeing the same idea in motoring stores. Might work.
