Iq Clock

This is a stick-on Clock I bought on eBay for my iQ. I have noticed more than once people travelling with me looking at the main console to check the time but there is no clock there! I decided to place it on the mirror, now everybody notices it!

sorry to be a bit po-faced about this Marcos, but the eyes moving from the road to the central mirror, and the 2 side ones, are for the purposes of knowing what is around you, at any one time........any distraction, is just that, a distraction, especially just before an overtake on the motorway at 70+ mph....

from a priority point of view, the Time surely would be of lesser importance than Awareness, and could become a substitute for it...

get yourself a Head Up Display to see your speed in the windscreen, and maybe even Tarquin could re-configure it to show the time as well!

hopefully I am not in a minority of One, with these thoughts..

all the best barryc.

"Now everbody notices it!"

How many people are in the rear of this People Carrier iQ?

Cant believe you reduced the Vision in your rear view mirror when anyplace near the Mantis Ray Dash could have taken the placement for the clock.

He could buy all his friends a watch off eBay. Anyway I didn't think time mattered in Greece, so layback.

Hey again,

Thank you for your comments and concerns! Believe me, I could not find any other place to place it where it can be visible to the rear passengers that easy. Yes George, certainly the iQ is not a mini-bus, however once or twice a week I drive to another city (150 miles away) with three more people, that is a full iQ:-). The mirror still offers me plenty of view. However, tomorrow I will try and place it somewhere else since I believe having it on the mirror is against the law, any suggestions will be very welcome!

Thanks again,

Marcos

you sound like a really nice bloke Marcos, as you have ended up with quite a 'kicking' over The Clock Affair...and taken it 'well'

I would have thought that the rears seat passengers should be kept in the dark about 'how much longer' to their destination, to stop any insurrection, as it were............or are they 10 years old, and keep asking "are we there yet"?

may be a DVD player in the back of the front seats???

good luck with the re-placement of Big Ben

cheers barryc

The re-placement of "Big Ben" (nice one Barry!) proved to be not as easy as I thought, I used some M3 stick on tape to place it on the mirror which is amazingly strong. I tried to remove the clock by pulling it but the whole mirror almost came apart. Wonder if there is someway of loosening up the tape a bit? Will be glad for your advice

Marcos, this sounds like the perfect question for David

"where art thou Tarquin??"

cheers barryc.

Thanks David! My next question is how can I make my iQ fly since I live on Crete and don't want to pay plane tickets every time I go to Athens, I am sure you know how to do it:-) A joke for a joke :-). Seriously, your knowledge is very useful to some "ordinary" human beings like me!

Thanks again,

David hi, I found a product called "Label Remover" here in Greece and ordered it, it will arrive today or tomorrow. Thank you for offering to send me a can, I thought you were joking and offered to send me a can that will make my iQ fly! You see English is not my mother tongue and often I'm a bit slow to understand! Thanks again,

I think you will find that you cannot send aerosol cans in the post, I tried to buy a touch-up in an aerosol and every dealer I contacted in the UK said it was illegal?

David did not say that he would send a "full" one.. now did he??? :o

Eventually I managed to move the Big Ben, was a lot more difficult than I thought. I used the Label Remover(thanks David for suggesting it!) and eventually I managed to take it off without scratching the mirror. Went to 2 car shops, at both places they told me to leave it there otherwise I'll damage the mirror. But hey, Although a noob I managed to do it:-). I will upload a pic of the new position, please don't be so critical this time otherwise I'll have to remove it again:-), Just joking:-) I'm really thankful for the help I receive in these forum!

Just joking

I'm still confused as to why the people in the back need to know the time. What do they do for finding the time when they are not in your car? Do they stop people in the streets and keep on asking them the time. Or do you drive really slowly and they say"Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"
