I hope someone can help me with this.

I have a 2001 Previa 2.4 vvti petrol. The "Battery drain" warning light has come on at the same time as the "low oil level" light. The Battery is not charging as it should but it is a new Battery. I don't suspect the alternator. I suspected a short in the oil level switch so remved the connector - the warning lights stay on! Does this mean that there is a short in the wiring loom somewhere? I don't understand how the oil level light can be on with the sensor disconnected?

Can anyone shed any light?

Thanks in advance, Martin
