I have read a couple of articles lately which have me scratching my head.

Turbo light: I have a usual 2.2 TD 3CTE engine and drive it hard sometimes (burning off kids at the lights with their baseball cap on the wrong way round.) But I never get a light up on the dash telling me my turbo has kicked in????

Turbo timer: When fitted aparently these will run the engine for a few seconds after you've pulled the key out in case the turbo needs cooling. It never does this.

Is there any signs or sounds I should be witnessing that I actually have an operational turbo somewhere under my bum?

You should be able to hear the turbo 'woosh' for want of a better word, mines an auto and if I push throttle to about 3/4 from a standstill the car moves forward in no big rush then you hear the turbo wind up and depending on the conditions I often get a wheel spinning (such a boy racer, wheres my furry dice), which means there must be something there to propel the 2 ton+ lump forward
