Hi All, Im new to the forum, I have recently(3 months ago)bought an Avensis 2.0 D4D T3S 53 plate (04 rigistered) and very happy with it well untill i started to get a few problems with it this week and thought you guys would be an ideal place to try and find solutions to them.

1. Loss of power with black smoke comming from the exhaust (no lights on the dash though) i thouhjt this could be the EGR Valve clogged up? (could someone tell me where this is located so i can clean it )

2. Had the car on a diagnostic reader after trying to accelerate at lights and the engine managment lioght coming on (code 1521 Something to do with the turbo i think it said)

3. Knocking sound coming from the passenger rear wheel (by knocking sound i mean like someone is knocking on the window)

4. when i put full lock on the car (to the right)i get a squeeling sound for about 3 seconds or until it turn the wheel in the opposite direction i changed the disc and pads(front) when i bought the car also had a new spring put on the passenger side as the old one had broke in half

I know this is quite a list to start of my time on the forum but any info would be greatly appreciated

1 - EGR is located on the right of engine block,

but the egr is coolant cooled, so you need to make sure car is cold or else you could burn your self

2 P1521 is a turbo fault,

You need to make sure about the code

3 probably caused by, shocker or bushes.

4 power steering belt slipping, or pressure valve on pump
