Well after a long hard day of washing and waxing here's the outcome. I've used a nice hard wax which will see me thru those nasty winter months.

Sadly I have to work the night shift next week, but I will have access to a nice warm underground garage, so I might get another coat of wax on there.

Looking good mate.

I did my Avensis the other week back using the Snow Foam lance and Autoglym HD wax.

The colour is really nice. Do you have DRL's in the front grills?

Mistermena, I also used a foam gun, but this thing needed a deep clean so was clayed, sealed then waxed with Collinite 845.

David, now there's something that might be worth a look. ;)

Nice one. I did a clay on mine to (Bilt-Hamber soft) after using the Nifisk with the Autobright foam (Banana flavor) lance and it came up a right treat. I've never used the Coll 845 as I've always been an Autoglym fan. But after this pot of HD wax is finished I'm gonna splash out on some £170 a pop stuff. Well thats if the Mrs doesn't find out! Lol...

What you gonna get for £170? Wax with gold in it??? The colli 845 was £15! I've also got some Zymol Titanium which is a real pain to apply correctly. Really needs warm weather for it to bond.

There's better waxes out there for the money, and you'll have enough left over for a good meal.

They are auto switching as well go off when main or side lights are on. Switch back and forward when lights set to auto come on and go off under a bridge

Not a wax but a sealant I can really recommend, I`ve literally spent a fortune on waxes and sealants and this is one of the best and easiest. Ideal as a winter protection

We had a touch of rain this morning and here's how the wax was working after a single application. I'll add another couple of applications over the coming week.

Very nice.... very nice indeed...

In the winter we also have to take care of the "underside" of the car.. Advised is to sprayclean the underside of the car more often during wintertime...

Did you take off the numberplates ???

Here are my DRL's... from Philips.. only € 100,- in Holland... Just a little readjusting and they could fit nicely in the air-intake... just as the one above my remark... (David)

Sweet-dentist, what make/model are those DRL's? Yes I did remove the plates to get total coverage of the wax.

David, if you want the full sized version of any of those pics, email me the one you want. ;)

Mistermena, come on we all know that those septics make the best products in the world... Well according to them anyway. I used Mer's version of Rain-X.

Hey DFish, nice shiny motor. Same colour as mine, except I still have to get down to the polishing part yet. I have recently acquired some Auto Glym car wash -I do have some Demon Shine somewhere, but as usual when you want it... and it's the large container too. Got it from Auto Express when I subscribed. After all that work it's nice to see the gleaming paintwork. Very nice. Not looking forward to all the aches, but I guess, if there is a good enough day and the car is here -my wife uses it quite a lot- then I have no excuse. Winter weather approaching according to the MET Office. We'll see. How long does it take using the clay bar?

You really dont want to be applying wax at temps below 10c. The wax just doesn't go off/bond properly.
