Cv Boot

I've got an inner CV boot split on my 4.1. Has anyone used the boots that glue together? I'm hearing mixed reviews, some good and some bad. Because it's the inner one, theres less movement so I was hoping I could get away with a glueable one.

How much work is involved to remove the driveshaft and fit an original one ?

I have used the glue ones but they are a fiddle. You need to keep it extremely clean and the hardest part is keeping it stretched over the shaft while the adhesive cures.

Taking the drive shaft out requires the suspension detaching at the bottom then it prizes out of the diff. The drivers side one is extremely long.

If you plan to keep the car for any length of time I would avoid the split versions.

I used one once and it lasted a while but then chose to fail at the most inconvenient time imaginable :censor:
