My 4.3 XT4 suffered a catastrophic failure the CD multi-system! ie. The CD's got so stuck that even taking the thing apart resulted

in total destruction.

I then brought a unit that was brand-new - from the 2008 onwards model. However, it was DAB and I didn't have a DAB aerial, nor

could I find one!

In the end however, I bought one of the Chinese double-DIN units and after many hours of fidling with it, now have it set-up with rear camera

(numberplate) and TomTom too. TomTom was the most difficult bit as you end up having to write code and do all sorts of work-arounds.

If anyone else buyts a Chinese unit, I'd be happy to help on the TomTom side!

Might sound like hassle to begin with (computer knowledge definatly needed)but when you get everything up and running, these chinese units run rings around anything the manufacturer has come up with to date and at a fraction of the cost.

The type of programs you can load onto them is limitless. Think of them as a pc in your dash.

Very interested in one of these chinese double din units, what model did you buy? do you have a link?

some seem to be advertised as 06-11 and some as 08 onwards do you know of any differences?
