First of all, sorry if the title is misleading, but I couldn't describe it better :P

Today I tried out my new radio, and noticed something.

I have already read alot on this forum from people who say there is a gap between the plastic frame of the airco, (right above the radio unit), and the dashboard, see the following picture, it explaines what I mean

I also had that gap, but after installing my new radio it disappeared. So I started searching how it was fixed.

When u take out the radio, you will see a metal frame at the left and right, behind the plastic airco frame.

This kinda holds the radio in place.

Pull out the frame of the airco, and put it back in, BUT:

Make sure that the clips at the back of the plastic airco frame are in such position, so they "click" onto the metal frame which is inside the panel.

The following picture explains it. The circled clips should click onto the metal frames.

So make sure that all 4 clips are attached well.

Hope this was useful!

Grtz

This post was a long time ago. Would you happen to still have the photos ? they are not accessible.

Hi,

Its was 2017 last time Noedel posted in the forum according to their Profile.

Assume you have a similar problem ?  why not post some details / pictures.

We replaced our Toyota Radio with an Android double din without any such ' Gap '  problems
