Free Fuel Card

Beware if you buy a new Toyota with a "free" fuel card. We did and it has been nightmare, the thing was only accepted once then after several failed attempts and calls to Toyota and Citi-Bank we were promised a new card. A week on and the card is here but no pin no. so cannot be used. The people at the bank assured me it had been sent but we now do not believe a word they say. Spent 20 mins with Toyota yesterday on the phone and they sbsolved themselves of any responsibility, just kept saying "ring the bank". So, beware, the hassle has been idiotic, perhaps it`s cavemen running these schemes!

Ring the bank again, as they are the ones who sent the card and the pin. It might be even better if you can call into the bank then they'll have to sort it out on the spot. Banks usually send the pin on a seperate day from when they send the card. The postman could have delivered your pin to the wrong address Some postmen where I live have been known to deliver to the wrong address. I'm sure you'll get it sorted soon and enjoy your new car :)

All well and good, I have rung the bank loads of times and there is no branch of this Citi Bank anywhere near here. The letter with the card said the pin would be with me in 2/3 days, a week on and still no pin. When I rang they said the pin had been sent and told me a date long before it would have been possible. Next stop is my dealership, not that I have any faith in them , the salesman when asked when the card would arrive simply asked if that was part of the deal. A pity a reasonable car is let down by these oiks.

This is why I don't like these gimmicks. I'd rather have the worth of the card as a discount on the car!

i purchased a brand new ice for my wifes 30th birthday and got a letter saying there is a small waiting list for the cards to arrive, but we had already received her card, and 2 days later the pin arrived so i cant complain to much

My fuel card arrived within 5 days of me getting the car. No problems etc etc and 6 months later im still using the card :)
