Well - the cheapest way is to ditch the 5 doors and move onto canvas sheets for wind protection. The saving in weight will be immense. Try a lighter set of alloys. Remove the back seats - I did and it changes you life! The kids and pets need to get the bus... ye ye - I know... its Fife and the Bluebell buses only run twice a year. You just need to plan the excursions more carefully.

Tunit box are very good. But not at £485 a pop. On eBay you can pick one up 6 months old for £130. Now that a deal and 12mpg more in your tank

The truth is of course is that You or I cant know if the box is absolutely spot on or complete rubbish... It could be a fantastic bargain !!

On the Lindop kit the first connection goes to THE FUEL RAIL SENSOR second connection to THE BOOST PRESSURE SENSOR . The depending on type You may have to wire a live and negative connection to the Battery...

Must agree with Charlie, and I have not researched the LINK......ye buy cheap, ye buy twice times....my Lindop Chip Kit BOUGHT SECOND HAND and hasn't blinked in 25 months. the amount of times one reads about the dreaded limp mode....good luck regardless.

Very good question, dfficult to describe where the plug goes on a 4.2 but it is NOT plug + play, unless you are an advanced Gyneacologist it is tucked away under a load of injector pipes at the front of the engine, my brother and i tried to fit one, bought off fleabay for £99 and gave it up, he has a "tunit" one now that took them 1+1/2hrs to fit at Chorley.. The very cheap ones kid the engine into believing its running cold (similar to running on choke)and just overfuel the engine, Tunit one about £485, Lindop (KINGO)£375 not sure how it fits on the 4.2 but i know a man who does..Kingo Good luck whatever you decide..Stew

Kingo had a couple of the lindop ones that had been on ex demo cars. I'm sure He sold one so may have one still available ???

I got My one of a forum Member who bought it off Kingo just a month ago. I got it off ebay and checked it out with Kingo before buying. It cost Me £250 including postage and a K&N filter so a useful saving bearing in mind it was just a moth old and the latest version/model

May be worth checking out Ebay say once a week ?? If You want to try a T180 fitted with a Lindop box PM Me ?? Im in Fife also.....

With Me its the Jag that comes first and the Rav second... But I would not compromise on either !! Cant afford to as doing damage to either engine would be disastrous... The Jag was re mapped by Spires. Cost was a rather ridiculous 700 quid but its a brilliant map and produces 315BHP from the Twin turbo V6 Diesel engine And 680 NM of torque.. Most importantly it does not invalidate the warranty on the car as it is Jaguar approved. That alone says a lot !!
