I have a 1985 Corolla, automatic transmission. My backup lights don't work and my Hayne manual doesn't say anything about it (only for manual transmission). Anyone know how to fix this?

P.S. I don't have the cover for my fuse box, so I don't know what fuse is for what, although I check them all and and they all look good.

Thanks!

OK... Basics first...

Are the bulbs working? What about the wire harness going to the rear of the vehicle?

I found the problem--it's the neutral switch on the side of the transmission. They don't sell an after market part and Toyota wants $200 for the part! First I'm going to see if I can fix it--neutral switch part is working because I can start the car, if it wasn't working then I wouldn't be able to start the car. Maybe there's just a break in the wire someplace? If I can't fix it, then I go to the junk yard and get one off another car.
