Toyato Avensis 2001 -Leaky Boot!

Hi

I have just joined and have a Toyato Avensis 'Y' reg 2001 (1800cc) with an annoying water leaking into my boot well on driver side. Tried a new rear light gasket but no change, just wondered if anyone has any experience or suggestion as to a possible solution?

hi i had the same problem on my corolla it turned out to be the boot gasket i removed it were the water was coming in and put some silicone sealent inside the groove on the gasket pushed it down securely and dont open the boot for a day it worked for me

The water may be getting in through the seam between the rear quarter panel and the roof.

This is under the black plastic strip which covers the roof gutter.

Strip the interior trim from around the rear quarter light and check fior water dripping in when you pour water over the roof gutter.

Lift the plastic strip, filled the gutter with a sealant such as sikaflex (http://www.amazon.co...23294038&sr=8-2) and stick the strip back down.

If all else fails take it to Mr T's body shop and get the seam resealed.
