Hi Blades.

Presume you're from Sheffield!

Sounds like your MMT clutch is out of adjustment (if you're lucky).

Much more likely it is so worn, it needs replacing.

If you can manage to get to a main dealer, they will initially try to adjust it by computer.

If it is worn out, it is about a £700.00 - £800.00 job.

It is a fairly normal clutch change job but that means gearbox out etc.

That in turn means driveshafts out & gearbox oil replacing.

All the time consuming stuff soon adds up.

Don't want to be all doom & gloom, but I think its going to cost you.

There certainly isn't a quick DIY home cheap adjustment you can do.

Sorry!

Ian.

PS, I have an MMT please keep us informed as we're all trying to gain as much

knowledge as we can about our Aygos.

You could also try the unplug-the-battery-for-10-minutes-then-plug-it-back-in trick to try and reset the MMT ECU.

There is no way disconnecting Battery resets the MMT ecu. The diagnostic tool used by the professionals is the only way. I am advised half an hours labour is the type of charge for a reset.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I have managed to limp in to my Authorised Toyota dealer and have left the car with them their intial response is to do diagnostics hopefull this weekend (£55.00 + vat for 1hr) to see if this can rectify the problem, my thoughts are that the clutch has worn and expect a hefty quote for replacement going on the smell that wafted through into the cabin ! Don't no what you guys think but my car has been serviced regularly is 3 1/2 years old and has got 35000 miles on the clock, do you think I have grounds for a contribution of the potential bill I may face ?

Yes I'am from Sheffield and some may say a tight Yorkshire man but I have a point don't I ?
