Winter Tyres For 2007 Verso?

Hi Everyone!

With winter weather making an appearance and having moved to a village in Northamptonshire since last winter, I was wondering what experience others had of winter tyres on a Verso?

I was mildly tempted to buy a RAV4, but I suspect prices have peaked for the winter so am wondering about the benefits of winter tyres versus the cost. I guess I would need to invest in a set of steel wheels to go with them which seems to mean the cheapest I would get away with is around £580 (via Wheelsnthings on eBay).

Any thoughts?

I cant see the point, unless you have a rear drive car that cant move on 1mm of snow. You will just get stuck behind all the vehicles that dont have winter tyres, unless they become law here (like in some european countries).

£600 buys a lot of grit and spades, if everyone drove a bit slower and more sensibly for the conditions that would help.

How did we ever cope before???

My fleet contacts tell me the tyres are in short supply.

You can get part worn winter tyres from some tyre places. They have plenty of grip and are a fraction of the cost. I fitted some Pirelli winter tyres and they make a huge difference never got stuck anywhere the snow was quite heavy in yorkshire. Highly recommended
