Hi read this old post my car is doing the same would an clean of the idle speed control valve help? has any one fixed idle stubble yet have driven other celica and idle is spot on . please read old post I have stunning Celica VVTi 2000

the engine was reconditioned due to well known problem - oil burning

since then - have no problem with oil.

however, I've got this problem, which was here before reconditioning, but I was hoping it's going to go away once engine is done.

basically - only when the engine warmed up (not when it's cold and has higher rev’s and additional fuel intake) on idle (neutral or clutch down) rev's keep jumping slightly up and down, causing the car shake. I can hear engine is not working evenly (from under the bonnet and exhaust pipe at the back), but if I press accelerator slightly - engine will even itself and works perfectly!

it's a not a big deal and probably most people won't even notice, but I personally don't think it's a very good for the engine to shake like this on idle..

there was an engine error code light came up on the dashboard - which was related to the dead temperature sensor, which was replaced, but didn't solve the original problem.

However, engine was put on the computer and cylinders were checked for pressure - and, according to the garage, it's all fine!

under the bonnet on idle I can hear there is something sucking the air, but can't figure out what it is and whether it's a problem at all...

I was told that there might be a timing problem (don't know what exactly it's called - but it something to do with opening time for fuel to go into the engine)

I have also noticed that right part of the engine is shaking more than the left part.

and finally:

right below the throttle there is a plug with wires connected to the engine (I think - it's a fuel injection sensor or something) - when I unplug it - engine immediately starts working evenly and nicely, but on higher rev's (about 1k) and I cannot start cold car without this plug....

guys - tell me there is a little thing that need replacing and it will solve the problem?
