Boy that is scarry, how the wagon misses him is unbelievable!!!! Notice how he slows down after the near miss.

As Clare says very scarry.

It does, however, make me wonder why the driver did not wonder why the truck in front was braking, instead of just overtaking like that!

Looking at it again I would say that the approaching artic had to slap his anchors on to avoid the overtaker,so if they had collided it would not have been the truckers fault.

Also as it had a camera mounted in it,could it have been a cop car?

If you have a look on You Tube there are loads of Russian accident compilations, the standard of driving is so bad it’s unreal. I dread to think how many fatalities occur each year.

They are almost all from front in car camera's, i think it must be an insurance requirement or an essential piece of kit.

Looks like that snow plough was just parked up there,(I suspect he wanted to clear the snow/ice on the other side oposite him) or going at a very slow pace on an A road, and the truck has to quickly swerve or he would have rear ended it, This going on one side of the carriage way.

May have even been on the Vodka to keep him warm

And at the same time on the other side you got this vehicle wanting to pass the lorry in front.

Not much health and safty in Russia, no lights flashing or warning signs on the snow plough, quite common I belive.

If you think this is scarry (and it is) does anybody follow Ice Road Truckers, and the follow up Dangerous Drives, makes the Russian roads look quite safe.

IRT DR is pretty close to Russian levels of madness, normal IRT is not really that dangerous IMO. Unless of course you go to the loo in the woods and a bear eats you.

The road from Delhi to the airport is an absolute hoot, especially at night as all the heavy wagons tend to travel at night to avoid the traffic. Problem is that most of the drivers are on varying substances to stay awake & they tend to use alternate sides of the road depending upon mood. The only way to avoid a nervous breakdown if you have to travel is to sit in the back with the seatbeat nice & snug and with your eyes closed....unless of course you're driving in which case best to remain in proximity of the controls - closing your eyes at appropriate points is still an option though.

I just could'nt believe what i just watched there.:o :o

Almost had to turn my head away, waiting for the inevitable

Followed a lady driving a mk1 yaris out of colchester this evening,in rush hour on my way home from work.

She had driven around several roundabouts on the bypass.....no lights on !,as we joined a dual carriageway out of main town,it got darker & darker ( she still didnt put her lights on ),so i gave her a little ' encouragement ' with ALL mine.

Was'nt until about half a mile into darkness she wondered why she could'nt see anything, even with me ' encouraging ' her.

Suddenly she turned hers on.......some people ! ! !

In those situations I do wonder what these people are thinking about. Doesn't it occur to them that er..." it's really dark in here; how come I can't see my speedo or switches, or anything!? Why are all these cars flashing me?"

I fear in these circumstances I'd do a Clarkson on them......

Good job you haven't got one of those special 'Torches' like Charlie inadvertently showed us earlier then.

Or have you

That video reminded me of this one from Canada in January of this year. Ironically, I happened to be driving that same highway a few days before in the same weather conditions:
