Newbie With A Few Questions...

Hi guys and gals!

Ive just joined after buying my first Celica (Gen 7. Only had it a few days after getting rid of my Impreza of 4yrs so still getting to know my way around the car.

Ive got a few questions, if any of you can help it would be awsome!

1. Will a facelift front bumper fit my 2000 Celica, if so is there any cutting/bending....required?

2. What other alloys fit the Gen 7 (Honda, Lexus...)

Any help with the above would be great! I bought it as abit of a project, its a 2000 140BHP VVTI in Silver (I'll post some pics asap). Iv done abit of research and it seems there abit of a oil problem with the pre-facelift models, is it as bad as people make out?

Thanks,

Stu

Hi, Stu & welcome to T.O.C.

A face lift Bumper will indeed fit your 2000MY, you may need to trim a little off the sponge reinforcement when you remove the OE Bumper, but that's easy enough to do. Be aware that the lips that bolt to the bottom of the Bumper are NOT inter changeable, so you'll need a face lift lip with the new Bumper.

Golf Mk4/Beetle/PT Cruiser/some Seat/some Audi. Look for a PCD of 5x100 with an Offset/ET of 35-40 (this is where the Impreza Offset is too inboard for the Gen 7). You would also need Spigot Rings to reduce the centre bore to 54.1. 60 degree tapered M12 x 1.5 Wheel Nuts MUST be fitted too.

The oil burning problem is a bit "hit and miss". Some pre face lift cars suffer, some don't. Slightly overfill with 5W30 (a revised Dipstick is available from Toyota), and keep an eagle eye on the oil level.

HTH :)
