Interesting Stew.

I sent a message to see who manufactures it. It is also listed at 6kg which seem light. I seem to remember that one of yours weighing a ton.

Anchs, this is a picture of the original TTE exhaust made under licence by Remus, very similar to the eBay one, again i am NOT reccomending it, but if you scroll down the eBay ad it tells you who makes it and there is a 2yr warranty. 6kg does seem lightweight though  Stew

I hear that although looking 'cool' twin exhausts on a car not designed for them do more harm than good?

The brain dead fit big bore exhausts to otherwise very nice sounding Subaru's and it doesn't seem to stop them thinking they are rally drivers. I suppose if they were to mess with a proper performance car like an M5 the back pressure variation might effect the tuning. I doubt it has any measurable effect on a RAV one way or the other.

Really not sure about the towbar question.

You can fit twin exhausts to the 4.2, Hoovie had them on his, and i think he either had a towbar or rear step which both utilise the same mounting holes, with regards to twin exhausts doing more harm than good, toyota tuning "TTE" used to sell them as a performance part at around £500, mine has been on for 2yrs now and without any problems that i am aware of, just for information you cannot fit both a towbar and a rear step to a 4.2 which is why you see quite a few rear steps for sale  Stew

Quite correct, Stew. In my case, I had the round chrome bar (rather then a step) that was part of the "Chome Collection" pack and fitted the Detachable Towbar that used the exact same fittings - just had to remove the bar, essentially sandwich the towbar between the mounting plates and then put the chrome bar back (made life very simple and only took an relaxed hour to fit  ) . The chrome bar also did a great job of hiding the Towbar stuff as well. I then later added on the TTE Twin Exhaust which was well clear of any of these fittings in its routing.

Below is a bit of my rear end () with all three bits above installed
