Was the rocker cover hole just the hole where the injector popped out?

I wonder who worked on the injectors previously? :D

So they told you you needed a new engine just as a wind up??............always a sign of a good garage that knows what there doing. :P

No they've not mentioned rocker cover just a gasket. I'll double check tomorrow unless they were winding me up about that too

Just glad it isn't an engine. Think men find it amusing as women don't have a clue. I just can't wait to get it back

Is your car fixed yet? I think I'm getting similar symptoms as you have described. Was it the injector that caused all the damage?

Finally got my Rav back. It's unbelievable the difference. Drives as a Rav should. It's also gone quiet compared to before. Also replaced all filters etc as you all suggested. Took it for a real long drive and it's fantastic.

The problem was not the actual injector. The seal or washer was the culprit and it seems that's what started the chain of events.

I'd really like to say a big big thank you to everyone for your input and advice and must admit it was all your knowledge of the Rav that helped rectify the problem. It's so amazing that a little washer/seal could cause so many problems

Once again thanks to all of you

Hi, the engineer said the seal or washer started the problem. It was missing when they checked all injectors were fine. On precaution he replaced all washers seals and bolts do hopefully should be the end fingers crossed. If you read my posts I think I've described symptoms best I can and my advise would be if it's similar to my problems get it checked before it causes any further issues

Hope that helps and good luck

Sounds like they done a good job, replacing all the washers, obviously looked at all the injectors then....might be worth naming them, if they did a good job?
