Aftermarket Tachometer

Since Toyota found it cheaper to not put a tach in a car with a 5-speed, I thought I'd like to add one. I had a couple of ideas. Maybe find one in a junkyard? if so are there any connections for it under the dash? Or, add an aftermarket tach. I figure someone must had added one as I know it drives me nuts not having one. Where have people mounted them? I appreciate any suggestions.

literally any tach can be added as long as you get the engine speed pulse wire for it to sense

Jaxx yes I know that but does the corolla (mine is a 1998) actually have the wire?? Because then I could just go to a scrap yard and pick up a new dial kit which has a tachomater.

Yeah, that is what I was wondering as well. I still can't believe someone would build a car with a stick with no tach. Must have saved them $10
