Hi all

I'm looking to get a Aygo in the new year, to replace my Smart Roadster.

Here is are 3 pics of my Roadie:

I had an accident in it in july of this year when some guy in a van reveresed into me down a ramp in a local car park. Anyway everything is sorted and I have retained mt NCB. But with the car being so low to the ground it is painfull getting in and out plus being a 2 seater there is very little room for other stuff and when I mean very little room the boot is less than 10cm deep......

Anyway I've got use to the cheap motoring of the car as it take £38 to fill it and that lasts 2 weeks, the tax is high at £95 but you can't have it all your own way... That is till I saw the Peugeot 107/Citroen C1 & Toyota Aygo.

I had my heart set on one of the Puetoet 107 xs/sports 3 door but the red interior is not to my liking.

I also like the fact you can interchange parts from the 107 and C1... So if anything needed replacing I could go to either firm.

But then my boss said that I could look at the Aygo as they are the sam car and I may like the Aygo with some toys it has..

Anyway I've decided to get the Aygo Go! in white as it seems to be the only model that has black air vents and speedo rings (107 sport has these in red) also I can have the satnav (even though I have it on my iPhone) as I don't think this is even an option on the c1 or 107.

I do have a few questions that I hope you guys could answer...

1) Is the satnav a permimnat fiture in the car? And how do you update it with new maps, safety camera etc...

2) Does the Aygo Go! come with bluetooth as standard?

3) Most people are against modfications, but are there and guide on how to change or add things line adding lights to passenger door when opened or the boot? changing steering wheels etc?

4) Any local meets in the Northamptonshire area?

5) Anything I should look out for

Hope you all have a great 2012

Rick

The satnav is a TomTom and can be left in the car - but can also be taken out easily and connected to a computer for updates etc

Yes the bluetooth is standard on the Go! but you need to have the satnav switched on.

Welcome by the way!

The Aygo does seem to offer very cheap motoring but the boot is very small!

Boot is worthless but just enough for a week's shopping :)

It's fun to drive tho'... you can throw it round corners like a go cart

Do prefer my Yaris but it does lurch round corners like a whale

The steering wheel......

I've changed both my wife's and my own to Aygo Platinum leather rimmed ones.

Bought them both from breakers' yards.

15 minute job to swap them over (you retain your own airbag).

I don't think you can completely change them to another type without losing the airbag.

Possibility of warning lights & MOT failures.

No need to change the steering wheel Go has leather trimmed steering wheel and gear knob already fitted.

Lovely little Roadster that! I remember having a ride in one when they first came out... brilliant fun but as you say, not practical at all!

1) I think someone's already answered that one!

2) Comes with bluetooth as standard as far as I'm aware.

3) There are guides on here - just pop whatever you like into the search bar and you'll probably come across a few! For the boot, easiest thing is to get a magnetic LED push-light from Halfords/Maplin/Asda - bright, cheap and easy to fit. With regards to the steering wheel, as someone else has said, the GO! has a leather one as standard.

4) Haven't a clue! Sure someone will be able to answer that.

5) You're probably aware of the Aygo's proneness to leaking. Having said that, there are more dry Aygos than leaky ones - I've never had a problem myself and my Aygo turned 5 years old today!

The Aygo's a great car anyway - make sure you pick up a good deal with the Go! because there is a new Aygo due out some time in 2012 I believe. However that should mean you'll get an excellent deal on a current-shape Aygo, and in all honesty, it's still a very modern, economical car, and you cannot go wrong with £20 annual tax (although it'll be free in the first 12 months). Keep us all updated - Toyota's customer care is largely excellent, too.
