Rav4 Buying Advice

I am from the UK but am living in Uganda for a few years. I am about to buy a vehicle, probably a RAV4. I will buy a vehicle recently imported from Japan. Due to the import tax etc the prices are high. A 1998 5-door RAV4 will cost about £8000. I have been looking at one and I would like some advice. The chasis number is: SXA11 7112694 Manufacture year: 1998 It is a 5-door with average mileage. Can anyone tell me what I should look out for? Are there known problems with these cars? For the same price I could get a 1995 Prado. I'm not sure which to go for. Opinions would be welcome! Many thanks!
