Toyota Celica 2001 Engine

Hi guys,

My Toyota Celica 2001 engine sadly died :(

I have sourced a company called Japdirect.co.uk in Essex and they have quoted me £700 to deliver a reconditioned engine including VAT and they also take my broken engine away (not including fitting) has anyone had any experience with this company?

or

Does anyone know of somewhere that offers a better service than this?

Desperate to get it fixed, but weary of suspicious websites. Need to weigh up my options.....

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!!

I can understand your apprehension on spending so much money when you can't tell if the rebuild has been completed to an acceptable standard. My experience on other Forums is that most are not.

The only suggestion I have, is for you to ask the same question on celica club uk, although I suspect the general response will be for you to source a face lift engine (52 plate on). That, however, is easier said than done.

DO NOT buy a recon engine. Every recon VVT-i engine I've heard people buy has been poorly reconditioned.

The best option is to source a facelift engine as Scarlett has said, or do an engine swap for a 190 (other bits are needed).

The best people to speak to are Se7en Motorsports. They are Gen7 specialists.
