Not a great start to the year, can anyone help...I am having problems with my D4D 2007 XTR, for some reason it has started playing up an takes a long time to start, it sounds like it is not getting fuel and when I check the prime button on top of the fuel filter it seems like their is no pressure. When it does start it feels lumpy for a minute and then runs fine, no warning light on the dash . The car turns over faster than normal when attempting to start. Any advise would be grateful but I think it's a visit to Mrt T... :crybaby:

It sounds very much like it is starved of fuel.

Thanks for all your help with this issue, went to replace he fuel filter and disconnected the fuel lines and wondered why I could smell petrol :crybaby: I was very quick to realise that some one (me) had put petrol in my diesel car. No wonder I was having problems starting the car. Flushed the old fuel out and replaced the filter and put in fresh diesel, primed the fuel pump and started first time... No signs of any damage and car is running fine. Has anyone had any lasting damage caused by this?

It could do a lot of damage, how far did you travel and what was the likely fuel mix in the tank?
