Ideas To Load Up Photos

Well I promised last year ( ) to post up pics of the rollcage for number1.

I have a few loaded on photobucket but I have the option of putting the pics onto website space I have as well.

Or I could swamp the RAV4 section for photos..... so where should I load them or just leave a link to the miriad of pics there are ?????

I'd welcome suggestive hints but will terrorise anybody giving daft opinions on where I should put them !

Theres lots more to be loaded; and more still as the work progresses. Yes - as my age and flying ability are in conflict, I need to get number1 sorted for flying this year !

Another photo showing the surface rust caused by poor windscreen seals over a period of time - it could happen to yours !!

And here's a pic taken from above with the windscreen out. Yep - yours looks as ugly as this as well behind all the flammable plastic !!! The Momo wheel is staying but the boss is being replaced by a quick release boss so I can take my steering wheel with me when I go shopping. You know how your image will be much enhanced by the fact you're carrying yer wheel in yer hand ?

The new Sparco3 red seats are staying of cousre and I intend to get 5 point harnesses fitted. Notice the complete removal of both the rear seats and any chance of replacing them !!!

The original seatbelts have been removed intact (almost) and all the carpeting has been removed. There is still some soundproofing here and there but that will be removed to allow the interior to be painted either silver or red. The red oxide you see on the bar behind where the dash was is the remnants of painting out some surface rust 3 years ago ( Big Kev to note )

The air vents will be left in or altered to allow screen demisting and also bladder control heat for the driver. Gearchange subject to alteration.

Almost all of the rubber door seals etc have been removed but most will be replaced. Its too much hassle just now to remove the door cards. The centre console wasn't doing much and I just need to replace the centre pod with the few instruments that were there before. I hope to try out that speed gadget posted last month - now the windscreen is stuck back in well.

Ian,can i take up the point you made about the windscreen and the seal?

I noticed when i was glueing those corner rain deflectors on,if thats what you call em,there was a gap all round the the plastic/rubber cover that goes round the windscreen.

Are all Ravs like this and is the inner seal good or does it need resealing from time to time,if you see what i mean

The screen (glass) is bonded onto the frame and should be bonded right around the glass/frame leaving no gaps... otherwise it will let water in. The gap you mention is immaterial - its cosmetic. The important thing is that the seal is intact. If the screen has any thin patches, these can allow the glass to separate from the frame as the body flexes. Think of it a bit like a fish tank but in reverse, keeping the water out at the joints.

Too many times have I had the screen replaced and then had problems some months later. Its been down to poor workmanship; insufficient sealer being used; and not applying a rust preventer.
