Hi - I must admit I bought a new Toyota with my own money and have lived with it for nearly eight years (that's twice as long as with my first wife).

It is my first Toyota and hopefully my last - it has to last another 30 years with the way the economy is going.

I bought it as it has a frugal diesel engine and can transport 7 people. I hoped it would last for years - but only time will tell.

I cannot say that the car excites me in any way it is more 'white goods' than an exciting drive. So far apart from small pieces of trim falling off, and the rubber around the aerial perishing it has behaved boringly well - Oh and it ignores any track on the CD above track 8.

I used to speed but saw the light and the cost of fuel and so drive very carefully and slowly and only make journeys if absolutely necessary. I have covered 62,000 miles in 8 years and average approximately 70mpg - I told you I drive slowly... Plus I roll down hills and rarely use the brakes.

So that's it - I am stuck with my Toyota and it's stuck with me....

Oh it's a Corolla Verso D4D 2004, silver with steel wheels and aircon, LHD - 'cos I escaped UK.
