Until recently i have always seen Caller ID when receiving calls on my iPhone 3GS connected via bluetooth. Now I only see the number of the person calling. Anyone have any ideas? I have tried unpairing etc and deleting and reloading contacts. The iPhone works as expected standalone and shows the Caller ID. Thanks :-)

Is the system like the Gen 2, in that you need to have the contacts stored in the system and not just the phone?

Hi. Thanks for replying. Yes the system is the same so I copy all of my iPhone contacts to the system. Bith the phone and the "system" show identical numbers and information but Caller ID doesn't show (it is loaded against the number)

With my system, I've found that the numbers need to be stored in the car in the format: 07XXX or 014XX instead of how I originally programmed them which was +447XXX or +4414XX. Once I changed the numbers stored in the car to the first format, the names started appearing when the phone rang. The address book in the car needs to match the Caller ID number sent over bluetooth, which isn't always in the same format as the way it may be stored in your phone's contact list.

Thanks for your reply. "Un"fortunately I have numbers stored both ways and neither gives caller ID. However I've also been looking from the iPhone end and it appears the problem may lie in the latest OS5 for the iPhone. Apple forums show a few problems with bluetooth that worked in OS4 but do not in OS5...and you cannot downgrade back to OS4...

I've got the same problem with my iPhone 4S. CLI displayed perfectly until recently. Now only the number shows, not the caller's name.

There's a fix for this.

You need to change the language of the iPhone to something other than English, then back to English, and it resets the caller ID format.

I did this on my 4S and the caller ID is working fine again in my Prius.

I also edited all my numbers to 07... format, rather than +447... on the iPhone and did a clean transfer of contacts to the Prius ahead of the above fix, which may also have helped.

Thanks Seamaster for the fix and apologies for not replying sooner. Final fix after changing language was to remove the +44 and it now works again.
