My Verso is a 2004 D4D.

Two days before Christmas the orange picture of an engine lit up on my dash. We all like some christmas illuminations but I thought the Japanese were Budhists and the car was built in Turkey and they are Muslims so why?

The car drives fine, engine revs freely. Fuel consumption still very good. I have read through other posts and this problem seems to arrive quite frequently.

I read about cleaning the EGR - what is this and how do I do it? Or should I just ignore or get rid of the warning light?

It would seem I am coming up for a cam belt change - is this easy to do. Do they need doing on time? If not changed will the engine self destruct if the belt breaks? I had older cars that would snap timing belts with no damage to the engine.

I visited Toyota in UK a coupla years ago and they wouldn't/couldn't sell me a manual. They seem to think they had the sole god given right to fiddle with this marque.

Is a manual available now?

Your help would be greatfully appreciated...
