Toyota Approved Used Warranty

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know if the toyota approved used car warranty covers technical service bulletins?

I popped into my local dealer today to ask them to diagnose a chattering/rattling sound which occurs when if I jab the gas pedal to about 1400rpm. The noise occurs as the revs fall back to idle. If I de clutch and do it the noise is not present.

The technician showed me a TSB which was released in December about a rattling noise from the clutch and a fix is a modified clutch.

That's what I'm thinking, either way I hope it's covered under the warranty. They're calling me back tomorrow as I randomly popped into the dealer at 17:15 and by the time the three technicians had finished with it it was after 18:00 and the warranty admin person had gone.

Normally TSBs are issued to address a particular issue with the cars (ie a manufacturing or design fault)

I would thus expect work under a TSB to be done free of charge, but if your car is under a Toyota warranty - it really (imo) should be

covered under that if not covered for free as a TSB in its own right.

Good news, the dealer rang me as promised the next day to say that I will indeed get a replacement clutch under warranty.

Will update once the work is complete. Booked in for this Tuesday.

I noticed this exact problem for the first time last night, it's booked in for service in a couple weeks - I'll get them to action this.
