Hi everyone

Please excuse my ignorance or naivety ( I'm in the geriatric division !) I have an Avensis TR 1.8 CVT 4Door Valvematic CVT petrol 1798cc.

First registed March 2009 and I bought it a few months ago. it is a good car BUT I find it difficult to master the intricasies of the Sat Nav.

anyway what I would appreciate help on is ...Does the Sat Nav (which came fixed with the car) work in France ? And in particular does it pick up speed cameras. It dos'nt over here.

Cheers

These SatNav systems do not indicate the location of speed cameras. Your system will work in France. Select MENU them SETUP and TIME ZONE to set it for the continent.

THanks Fitter for that swift reply. I much appeciate it.

So I assume then that my one is not illegal in France?

I heard something this morning that the French might be banning satnavs just from a safe driving point of view ie like mobiles and eating whilst driving etc like over here !!

I dont know whther you or anyone else in the " fraternity" have heard that?

Thanks again

I am not aware of French law on SATNAVs but if it is a case of driver distraction it is possible to programme the system and then turn off the screen using the display button and then just listen to the voice directions.
