Hilux was first registered in the UK,where it did alot of motorway miles

the road salt may have caused the excessive rust on the sump.

i have exactly the same issue with a 2006 hilux d4d 2.5

Seems like you can't find a sump anywhere apart from toyota.

Anyone changed one and know how much has to come out and how long a job it is?

If it is 4x2 it's easy to remove. But if it is 4x4 i've ead that you have to pull the engine out or drop all the front axle... quite a job...
