Have just recently bought a T180 2006 with full dealer history 155000 miles, am very happy with the car but even on a motorway run avrageing 85mph im only getting 31mpg!! i also own a 430bhp nissan 300zx twin turbo and that will do 25mpg at same speed, i thought should be getting more than that. If i put £20 in i get maybe 75 miles on the range. What should i be getting or is this normal?

Great analogy Dave :)

31 MPG on a T180 at a steady 85 sounds quite normal, have a look through the forums at T180's threads and you will find plenty about fuel figures. The cold weather doesn’t help things either, my 13k Avensis does 40 in the same conditions.

Don’t worry Mr M will be round soon with the snake oil :lol: ;)

Yeah i seen it but was still expecting a bit better than 31mpg, the 2.0litre deisel mondeo that i had before done 55mpg at the same speed and that only had a 5spd box. And it had a DTI box fitted so was around 160bhp??

Paul.

The T180 isn't that good on fuel, DPF cars wont match the earlier Euro 3/4 Diesels that dont have them. You could run some additive and perhaps check the EGR valve is clear and even add a tuning box. But it still will not match a TDCI or VAG PD car.

I was about to ask on a new topic about this;

How accurate are the fuel computer displays on these cars?

Am I right in assuming that everyone are using the numbers displayed on their screens when they quote their mpg's?

Does anyone know how the trip computer works, because I am pretty sure its not measuring the actual fuel being used, but rather displaying from a programed graph of engine speed / pedal position, etc.

If so there is NO WAY it will be accurate.

I bet you brim to brim with a calculator is actually worse than the trip computer. So ignorance may be bliss :lol:

Welcome to the club :thumbsup:
