Today I Have Mostly Been Driving The Rr Evouque

To come straight to the point Errrr No No way...

Driving position is awful.... The front pillars are simply huge.. This combined with the huge mirrors (Due to an EU Directive the mirrors must be a certain percentage in size of the frontal area of the car ) means seeing what is down the sides of the wings when parking is just awful....

Space in the rear would take a couple of suitcases or ONE set of Golf clubs and a bag and anything else would have to go on the back seats...

Talking of which the rear seats are very cramped when the front seats are back far enough for wee 6.4 Me in the drivers seat..

Engine in the car I had today was the 190 BHP Diesel and felt very very underpowered even allowing for its a new car/engine...Also lacked refinement..

Could not get comfortable in the seats no matter how I tried ...

The fit and finish is/was exceptional though and gives the ambience that I have never felt in any Japanese vehicle...

It was the top of the range car with all the bells and whistles which was nice but what use is a large estate car with no Space or Pace ??

Apart from the Interior which frankly is in a different league. The Rav has it nailed !!!

Very disappointing as the car I had today was 47K With all the extras fitted

Charlie.

IF there was a Rav with equal spec to the one I have. And if it could carry a spare wheel. And IF there was not a new model looming which will hit the residuals of the last of the 4.3s.... I would !!

But there aint. So We are both out of luck !!................. :D

Thank god Charlie - I've seen a few and was at LR yesterday and tried 3 of them and didn't see where the money was going. Maybe it was because all the interiors were very black and dark, bu they were claustrophobically small inside.

Range Rover are doing a 3 litre V6 Hybrid engine later this year/ next year. 85 mpg (Yes - eighty five) and no VED.

Believe it when I drive it though. But if it comes off, the engine will filter down to the Discos (RR Sport is essentially a Disco 4 with less room already).

To be honest I was going off the Evoque after seeing a couple out on the road...

I do quite like the Disco 4 but My intention is to go back to Audi as all the ones I've had and that number is over ten have been brilliant and the Dealer back up excellent too though the only issue I had was a Clutch in a B7 RS4 that was replaced under warranty despite the car had been used on the track........

Have to say that I have always been a big fan of Land Rover.I know we give the Freelander a hard time on here, but I loved both that I owned. The V6 petrol was

a lot of fun apart from the fuel consumption which was a bit scarey.

Also, I may just have been lucky, I dont know, but I'm going to shout this next bit...

NEITHER OF THEM, BROKE DOWN......EVER.

JLR or Jaguar Land Rover products have come on a country mile since the Company was taken over By Rattan Tata...

I would not have considered a jaguar built by Ford who owned the Company previously....

My Jag has been a joy to own and not thrown up one single issue.. When I put it in for service last time round I was informed that the rattle in the Drivers door has been fixed Sir.......????? Err What rattle ??

It turns out that some cars have a wee problem with a cable clip in the door coming adrift. So rather than wait for a Customer complaint they fix it anyway....

I would imagine the Discovery 4 has had the same hugely updated build quality that Jaguar cars has had.. The customer back up is certainly way better than when Ford owned the Company..

I would go for a Disco4 but for one reason.. The fuel consumption. Low twenties is not a prospect I'm afraid....

One wonders at the thought processes here - is the new colour scheme on the page distracting you???

Clearly the problem is that the thing has 5 doors!
