Heated Rear Screen - Demister Questions

Hi guys,

With the first properly cold weather since I bought my Avensis (-5) I needed to use the heated screen today for the first time. 2 Questions for the more experience among you.

1)The very top portion (which appears to be separate) of what appear to be elements do not demist at all. Is the screen split into different areas? Or am I being stupid and this is actually an aerial or something? If it should be on is it likely to be a wiring fault

2)The FM reception definitely takes a hit when using this stuff - particularly the rear wash wipe there is major interference. Is this normal or a known, fixable issue (car has 12 month warranty)

Thanks

Tim

The top part is the aerial, hence it wont demist. I thought the same as you when I first got the car, but it should say in the handbook also

With regards to radio, the reception shouldn't be affected, certainly isn't with me, and I have the same model 2006 h/b car. Is the reception affected no matter what station frequency you are listening to?

Thanks,

That is the answer I was hoping for. Not had a chance to read the manual yet, everything has been pretty intuitive so far.

Was FM low to mid 90's (say 92.5 - 95.8) possibly outside these as well but definitely those. There is definitely a temporary crackle whilst the wiper arm motor is sweeping
