What's up everybody? I'm just now getting into the whole scene and need help. I've had my car for nearly 2 years (1993 Celica Slow Trac) and plan on doing a motor swap. I've heard from a buddy with a Mister2 that I should get a 3SGTE but to get the MR2 motor rather than the all trac. I'm in need in some accurate information from someone with more knowledge. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Your friend is nearly right. You can use the motor from the altrac but you need the transmission and driveshafts from an MR2 Turbo. Obviously its easier to source all the parts from one car, hence your friend saying use an MR2 engine/transmission. You will also need the ECU and engine loom from the donor car. Make sure though that the transmission has a limited slip differential, because when you're trying to put around 220 hp (assuming you live somewhere in USA) you will need it, otherwise the torque steer will be a killer. Here in the UK we call the altrac the GT4

Thanks for all your input. I was pretty sure he was right, but he owns a DSM so I wasn't so sure.
