I'm a member on there and i cant recall seeing any evidence, so find the threads or button it.

Your likely to find a better response over there, there is a bigger modding scence, which in essence is what I belive you are looking for, by hacking off the Dcat and wanting the ecu reprograming.....there are now a few that can remap these ecu,s without the need for an add on box.

You ain't going to get Toyota to warranty hacking off the DPF and a non oem ecu flash.

Why not be the 1st to post the results :P

No doubt you have been into the is22d forums?

Do any of the posts sound familiar?

I am not having a go or anything, I just think there will be more specialists over there..

After all they did have the IS200 race car, a while back......its these guys you need to be speaking too........

Right back into my cave :P

Nobody can or has done this as far as i know, racing cars have no connection to Diesel D-Cat DPF bypass's. Please dont make claims about things that you cant backup as its not helpful. People are getting quotes running into £1000's of pounds to fix these issues, offering false hope is not good.

I come from a VW modding scence.......anythings possible.......with the right expertise.

If these companys a selling a product that does not do what it says, then sue them.? Why not ask them? Or have you already?

Your not going to find a hacking off of the Dcat in the Toyota options list, with a warranty.

Specialist is where you need to go.

That means away fron dealerships, these specialist know more about vehicles than manufactures themselves........as least in the vw world they do..:D

Evo' tuning CANNOT provide a remap for these engines, not can they do a DPF delete.

NOBODY can a the moment.

I can't see why not, all ecus are encrypted, and all are broken and remapped, maybe there's not a huge number of people doing it for Toyotas yet......I bet the Americans had it cracked years ago.

http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=42551&pid=443357&st=0entry443357

So why ate EVO tuning advertising that they can?....has anyone actually rang any of these companys up :D

Will you just give it up, read the thread instead of posting rubbish. A BMW is not a Lexus.

"Chipped UK (the place that performed wonders on both Gord's and my BMW) can now remap the Lexus IS220D

"Just been on their website. They do not list the Lexus IS220d as an option for a remap. Can you confirm as I've looked everywhere."

I am very good friends with a guy who does remapping and DPF removal for a living.

He assures me that it cannot be done, and going off his experience in this field, I tend to believe him.

If he could do them, others would be able to do them too.

Sinspeed claim to be able to remove the DPF and reprogram the ECU, yet they have removed this claim from their website and one person on this forum had their Auris done, and now has more problems with the car as a result.

Lets face it, the biggest name in Tuning is Superchips, and the money they have for R&D on vehicles is more than most other tuning companies, so if it was possible, THEY would be offering it.

I have searched all over the net, and lexus forums, and nobody has had it done, or knows a company that can do it.

BUT, for the purpose of entertainment, I will contact this company and ask about having mine done.

Hmmmm strange that they advertise as doing so? Why do the advertise if they Cant do it?

Another good tuner is AMDTechnics, if they can't do anything, I will be very amazed :D

They don't have to list a service as they may not get asked for that mod, or model often.....

It usually starts of as a custom one off, then word gets round, more people want the mod, then they gear up for that specific mod and advertise it..

Also worth noting, that Evo chip tuning are registered to the same address and web name as Motorsport development in Blackpool.

These guys remapped my first car, and I had problems with Limp mode and lack of power.

I don't trust them after that experience, and find it hard to believe that a tiny unit on an industrial estate can remap an ECU that the bigger names can't.

I will see what response I get to my email.

You are missing the point, or trying to goad me into an argument.

NOBODY is able to remap these ECU's. Check the forums, and online remap sites. If they were available, someone on here would have had it done.

Also, why would a tuner have the ability o tune a car with a notoriously difficult ECU to crack, but not advertise it so they get exclusive remaps for that particular brand? It doesn't make any sense.

A remapper only has to plug in to the OBD port, and play solitare while you wait, then send you on your way without needing to prove anything. They don't have to own a rolling road to prove it, they rely on your 'placebo effect' to trick you.

I'm not saying Evo use this tactic, but I find it impossible to believe that a company so small can do this when the big names can't.

Also, AMD do not even list Toyota or Lexus on their site....

Im only after reading this thread so a bit late.. The egr valve on the landcruiser is accessed by removing the intercooler and the the throotle body. Youl find everything gunged up more than likely. Clean as much as possible. If you look at the actuator for the valve it has two vacuum pipes fittings. This valve is held closed with spring pressure and opened with the vacuum. The vacuum switch above the starter actuates the egr valve and the valve on the throttle body dumps this vacuum to close the valve. When looking at the two pipes going to the egr valve you will see one has a 2" pipe on the end. Remove this and the two will push together. This method eliminates the valve opening again but the control systems will operate as normal without fault codes. This mod can be done without removing any compents if your not going cleaning the intake. The valve doesn't control inlet manifold pressure. Blocking the valve gives better mid range grunt

Blanking EGR's has been going on for ages, i'm pretty sure the EMWL would come on immediatley if you tried it on a newish 2.2 D4D.

There is also a query over the legality of messing with emission control systems.

Right, just to clear this up once and for all, Here is what I wrote to Evo' chip tuning/MSD

Hi,

I have seen on your website that you are able to tune my Toyota Auris SR180.

Please can you confirm if this is a custom remap, or a tuning box, and how long it will take to carry out the work?

Also, would this include rolling road before and after the tuning is done?

Many thanks for your help

And their reply:

HI Dave

The ECU in this vehicle cannot be recalibrated and the ONLY way to increase the power in this vehicle is with a Add-on Rapid diesel module

This is a module that is fitted to the vehicle, The cost is £700.00, BHP +32 NM Torque is 65.

Contact your nearest installer here for more info

Best Regards,

Steve Sanderson (Accounts Manager)

This proves what everyone has been saying about these ECU's.... They CANNOT be remapped in any way.

Wouldn't that be a result, but if we are honest, we both know it's unlikely.

O well maybe one day Toyota specialists will catch up, :D

Still not right these places saying they can do this when they can't....... VW world has been removing these for some time now...... :D

Posted

Toyota specialists aren't able to do it either!

The Denso ECU is heavily encrypted and nobody has the tools to unlock them and alter them.

Nobody on this forum or the Lexus forum has had a remap, or found a legitimate remap company who can do it.

One person on here claimed they took their car to Sinspeed, and their car is now knackered.
