Newbie Needs Help....

My girlfriends ep82 has blown its headgasket to v.v. small pieces, so I'm looking to replace it with an uprated item. I've tried all the usual suspects (fensport, TDI etc) but noone lists a metal headgasket for the 4e-fte.......

Does anyone know of a supplier that can sort me out?

Getting a metal headgasket made isn't a problem - however, head gasket failure is usually a symptom of another problem, and replacing the head gasket does not cure the original problem, so could fail again shortly afterwards.

A standard head gasket will cope with a standard and a moderately tuned engine, providing it is installed properly and the head is flat and hasn't warped.

The engines running just over a bar of boost, but its getting a new turbo later this year, and I dont want to be rebuilding her engine again when shes running 1.3 bar

Sounds good mate 1 bar is really the max for the little CT9 what are you replacing it with? Have you done many other mods to the car?

Vikki's starlets got Apexi induction kit w/ custom pipe, 2.5" straight through zorst to 5"backbox, Apexi AVCR set at 1 bar, HKS adjustable actuator, HKS FCD, FSE powerboost valve, KYB shocks and springs, DP motorsport piston dump valve, Nomad a/f guage, Smiths boost guage and most importantly a TRD gearknob :P

Looking to fit a hybrid CT26 from my MR2 later this year, when I've saved up for my GReddy Turbo.......

Sounds very nice mate, about the same spec as mine when you change turbo's try and junk the stock interwarmer and go front mount intercooler it will help allot made quite a difference on my car!

Any chance of some pics of the apexi filter setup as i'm trying to do something with mine as i'm running a panel filter in the standard air box at the minute as the temps inside the engine bay are so hot.

Also the CT26 might not bolt up to the factory manifold... plus it's junk anyways the have a habit of cracking with the heat.

Got no digi camera yet - should be rectified soon - then I'll post some pics up for ya!. Tatsumaki have got a s/h front mount on their site at the moment for $250 nz, so if they can sort me the headgasket, I think the cooler'll be coming with it

What sort of power are you getting?

Last time i had it done it was setup at 1 bar without the Blitz FMIC and Blitz exhaust and i got 155 bhp so hoping for about 165-170 now but will have to get it done soon think it's running very rich at the minute too though.
