Spoiler

A neighbour of mine has had to give up driving because of eye trouble and has sold his Auris.

He had fitted a genuine auris spoiler to it,but removed it and was going to sell it on eBay.it cost him over £400 when fitted at our local toyota dealer.

I thought i would like one for my auris as it looks smart and suits the car.thats the only reason i would consider one, just cosmetic reasons.

Well he has offered the spoiler to me for nothing for the many times a ran him to the hospital for his eye problem (39 mile return journey).Although the wrong colour i can get it resprayed for little by a friend who owes me for the DIY work ive helped him with as he is next to useless at anything pratical.

The only concern i have is fitting the spoiler will make the car modified and i know i should inform my insurence company. Other versions of the auris have the spoilers fited as standard but if i ask the my insurence company will it incresase my premium if i decide not to will it be on my record after asking as beein some sort boy racer ( a much oldr version i must add) and also cause an increae.

Has anyone else fitted a spoiler and how did this affect their insurence.

Thanks in advance.

On topic its nice to know there are still some decent people around. Nice one.

In regards of your spoiler I cant see it making a huge difference its only a cosmetic difference, but its worth declaring because if an unfortunate event you had a bump insurance look for anything to void a claim.

Though on the good side many wouldnt even notice as its OEM part you can you purchased the car this way and have no knowledge of it being any different. As its obviously not an obvious high boy racing spolier to be noticed, however still worth getting a quote to see what the difference is.
