Avensis Sr 2.0 (1999) - Fitting A Leather Interior.....

Hey All,

I've bought a 1999 Avensis SR and I want to fit a leather interior... There are a few on eBay but I'm unsure what to choose... I really wanted a black, but they only have dark grey listed, but do I have to choose one from a 1998 - 2002 model, or are the interiors the same for newer models?

Mine is a saloon so I'm guessing I have to have a saloon interior rather than a estate interior...

Has anyone done this?

Hi Drew

I also thought about this as the fabric on my seats has almost worn through where I get in and out.

If memory serves me right, someone did try this a while ago, but for some reasons found the connectors at the seat base different - something about 2 and 3 pins.

I'd suggest taking a photo of the connections you have now, then seeing if the vendor will send you a corresponding photo before you part with any cash.

And if you are succesful, please let me know before the rest of the forum, so I can buy some cheap leather seats before everyone does and the price goes up !.

Cheers

Buzby

Epic thread bump.

Can anyone help me? I've got a T22 saloon - and i've been offered a leather interior, but it's from a hatch.

Obviously the front seats will fit, but what chance do I have of the rears fitting from a hatch? Any at all?

I checked one of parts sites and the saloon top matches the hatchback lower.

So yes. Check the release mechanism.

Lord above. 20 seconds looking at that website and my head physically hurts.

SO - worth a go then? I suppose I could always do the rears first, and if it doesn't work then flog the whole lot before I go to the effort of fitting the fronts.

TBH, I'm not fully versed in technical drawings etc - so I'm not a lot wiser.

Thanks nonetheless. I think I'll give it a go.
