Replacing Scv Valves

Does anybody know if the ecu needs reprogrammed after replacing scv valves as mpg has dropped from 54 to 51. Avensis d4d taxi with 236,000 on the clock...

Hi,

No ECU programming is needed after SCV change. Decreased MPG may indicate, that the common rail pump was not operating correctly wiht the old and worn SCVs, on the other hand now your engine receives correct diesel dose (correct amount and pressure of fuel) ;-).

What was your reason for SCV chage?...hot engine starting problems? .....or it was just an preventive overhaul?
