So yeah, I recently bought a AE101 Levin GT-Apex from a guy. The car wasn't running when I bought. He told me he had checked if any tension was running from Battery to igniter and coil combo. There is tension from Battery to igniter/coil but none from igniter/coil to distributor cap. So my friend and I went after this tonight and indeed, there's no spark. Every other electrical components are working (power folding, wipers, starter, etc.).

I read a couple of similar troubles on the internet and what I'm thinking is that some wires are cut or grounded somewhere. So this week, we might look after wires. Would that be a good start?! What's your opinion on that!

Thanks!

Hi Frank and welcome to the TOC.as with all elecric/ignition faults you have to trace things in sequence which is not so easy in morern cars with electronic controls

A wiring diagram would be handy but i am sure getting one one for an imported car is going to be a problem.

But anyway good luck.

Hi Frank, and may I add my welcome.

I always go fo the simple things first and wondered ,has the coil got an earth point and if so is it clean?

Sorry if this is insulting your knowledge on this.

Nothing insulting there, just pointing out something else that could be it. We we're outside, it was snowy and we were swapping parts in and out. We'll look at this monday night. My mechanic is good at electrical stuff so this might take a couple hours and get fixed!
