Avensis 2003 Alarme

I recently had the drivers window broken and the alarm failed to go off.I left a window open and alarmed the car.I then put my arm through the window and nothing happened .I then tried rocking the car and again no alarm.I put the key in the door and opened it and the alarm sounded.I cant find any sensors in the car but the dogs set it off when I locked them in using the alarm set a few months ago.The Battery has been disconnected since and also the Battery in the key has been changed.Is there a reset to be done?
