2005 T-Spirit D2S

Hi,

Thanks in advance for reading this post.

I have doubt regarding my car head light. My question is as below.

Before I start with the actual problem here is my car description.

Toyota Avensis T-Spirit; 2005 55 Reg; 2.2 D4D

My question is as below.

The car has got projector lamps for low beam.

When I got the car in 2006 I vaguely remember taking out the D2S bulbs and keeping it somewhere and now I can't find them! I took them out because the factory fitted D2S bulbs were pathetic and upgrade bulbs were expensive! Now I can't find the bulbs which I took out? :(

In the users manual of the car it is clearly written that the car head light low beam housing can take either H7 or D2S bulbs. The manual explains how to change the H7 bulb but nothing about D2S! Strange....

So, if I want to put the D2S back which of the following needs to be done?

1. Do I need to buy any additional fitting to put D2S back into the headlight?

2. Can I put the D2S directly or do I have to buy a conversion kit?!

3. Will I get some kind of pin conversion unit to convert from H7 to D2S?

I have been to the Toyota dealership and could not get a satisfactory answer!

Any kind of help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Uday

Thanks Pete,

I am bit confused here.

So, you mean to say that I have to buy the conversion kit?

Because as I have posted when I got the car it had D2S fitted but now I can't find them. Those bulbs had some kind of special attachment to them so that they fit in the low beam housing and all I had to do was connect the H7 plug to the back of the special attachment.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Kind regards

Uday
