The Yaris Horn? Why Oh Why!

i dont know if its just me, but my yaris horn makes my car sound like a noddy car!! i hate it, and im embarassed to use it in public!! anyone know if this is easily changed and how to do it??

Same with Honda's. Maybe a Jap car thing!

The easiest way is to get a 2 tone horn kit (comes with 2 units, 1 low and 1 high note) for around £20 from Halfrauds (or similar motor shop) and wire it up to your original wiring.

Once you take off the original horn and left with the plug it should be very simple. You only need a positive and a negative!

Yeah, i got one too, its a compact one but its well loud. When i blast it people look for the firetruck and they see this ikkle Yaris :D

yeah i hate my horn too i had some sod it a comet truck try to get round me from behind and i he was very close so i pressed the horn and he did'nt even bat a eyelid as it past sounded so like noddys car....too

Think mine sounds ok - my nephew did some extensive testing on it for me at the weekend.

Maybe the original owner replaced it themselves?

i disagree. my peugeot 106 quiksilver, a similar sized car, had a nice horn. warned other drivers quite well. but this, people will just laugh if i was to sound my horn to them! but thats just my opinion!

can u actually just clip on another horn, say of an avensis or something??

It's easy to get to to...simply rip the old un out...stick a nice deap throaty one in..only two wires and bob's ya uncle.

Two tone one's are avaliable...but they are also illegal too.

two tones are not illegal. I think you are referring to the old musical horns. All the bigger cars carry 2 tones are standard.

my mums car has 2 tone as standard dats cool,

my mate added a triumph TR6 horn on his moped very deep ud fink it were a truck!

ive got standard 2 tone air horn cuz i hated my moped horn and jus transferred it to the yaris,

i want a musical air-horn jus for the entertainment value!

fire engines and big lorry have a compressor system as standard to run off a yaris doesnt so ure gonna have to install one huge compressor for the same affect
